Aquatic Energy, LLC was formed in 2006 to pursue the vision of commercializing algae technology in the Gulf Coast of the United States.

Aquatic is committed to producing clean-burning, environmentally safe fuel for the region, while at the same time being a good neighbor to the towns in which it operates. Aquatic believes that businesses and the environment can mutually profit from the use of next generation renewable fuels, which will lower emissions, and create a sustainable future for the United States.

A seasoned industry professional, David has most recently completed development of a $6 million biodiesel facility on the Eastern Shore of Maryland (Baltimore Biodiesel LLC). Renamed Green Light Biofuels Princess Anne (www.glbiofuels.com/currentprojects.php) the facility which currently produces biodiesel from poultry fat, started construction in late 2006 and begun biodiesel production in late 2007. David’s knowledge of biodiesel commercialization has been a critical feature in the developmental efforts of Aquatic Energy and commercializing this algae production technology.

 
   
   
 
 

Dr. Ravikumar, PhD of Phycology from Chennai, India, is an expert in identification, isolation and culturing of various micro algal species. Dr. Ravikumar has developed and operated commercial outdoor algae growth systems for the last 15 years in India, Saudi Arabia, and the United States. Dr. Ravikumar was most recently the Head of Phycology, Aquaculture, Laboratory and Algal Quality Control Operations at the world’s largest vertically integrated desert aquaculture facility, which utilized algae as a feed for shrimp farming. His duties included pond construction and expansion supervision, scientific personnel management, and algal culture quality control. Dr. Ravikumar is a vested partner of the Aquatic Energy team, and is currently leading all algal research and development for the company.

 
   
   
 
 

Mr. Estes brings over 30 years of professional engineering and construction management experience to Aquatic Energy.  During his career Mr. Estes has served as Project Engineer for a $100 million ethanol processing and refinement project, in addition to working as the Construction Design Manager for several wastewater projects exceeding $37 million. He also has experience in engineering and construction of processing plants, chemical and paper mill facilities along with agricultural projects. This set of skills and in depth knowledge of agriculture, wastewater treatment, and refinement uniquely qualifies Mr. Estes to lead the design, engineering and construction of Aquatic Energy’s algae production facilities. 

 

 
     
 
     
   
 
 

Dr. Chapman is an Executive Director at the Center for Marine Biodiversity and Conservation, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, at the University of California, San Diego. He earned his PhD at the University of California.

His area of expertise include Phycology, Marine Biodiversity and Conservation, Ecology, Systematics, Sustainable Development, Decision, Risk and Management Science, Economics, Law and Social Sciences, Political Science, and Sociology.

 
   
   
 
 

Dr. Vandevivere is a bio-environmental scientist and engineer specializing in algae, soil, water, and waste. He earned his PhD at Cornell University in NY. Philippe has also published two books in environmental science.

As far as professional experience, Philippe has been employed as a Technical Expert at the Belgian Ministry International Cooperation. He has held the title of Research Scientist and Process Engineer at the Lab Microbial Technology, University Gent, Belgium. Finally, he has had titles at Seaphire International Inc, Tucson, AZ including Environmental Manager, and Senior Scientist. He is currently an independent consultant, and entrepreneur.

 
   
   
 
 

Andy Cooper has more than twenty years of experience in venture management, venture investing, and investment banking. Andy is a serial entrepreneur. Over the last 10 years he has built, ran, and sold three companies worth more than $800 million and raised over $95 million in venture equity financing for these companies. He earned a B.A. from Duke University.

Mr. Cooper was founder, and former President and Director of Brand Asset Digital. Also, Andy was a co-founder, former co-CEO, and Director of Unison Site Management. In addition, Mr. Cooper co-founded Avesta Technologies.

 
   
   
 
 

Mr. Marino joined Telos Systems Marketing in 1988 as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In 1990, his responsibilities were expanded to include Program Management in addition to Sales and Marketing. In January 1994, Mr. Marino was appointed to President of Telos Systems Integration, and in January 1998, he was appointed Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. Prior to joining the Company in February 1988, Mr. Marino held the position of Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing with Centel Federal Systems and M/A.com Information Systems, both of which are U.S. Government contractors. Mr. Marino was elected to the Board of Directors in June 2004 at which time he was also appointed Executive Vice President Special Projects and stepped down as Executive Vice President and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. In 2001, Mr. Marino was elected to the prestigious Federal 100 Group. This award is given to outstanding executives of the Federal Government and Industry.

 
   
   
 
 

Rick Kramer is Chief Executive Officer and a founder and principal of FAXPLUS Inc/Omni Business Systems. He has more than 35 years of management, marketing, and sales experience.

Mr. Kramer’s professional background includes the founding of Office Automation, Inc. He has served on the advisory boards of several organizations including The Lawrence Transplant Foundation, Washington University (St. Louis) Parents’ Council, and American Associates Ben-Gurion University. Mr. Kramer's experience includes 10 years on the board of directors of Cheyenne Software, an American Stock Exchange public company that was acquired by Computer Associates.

 
 

 

 
   
 
 

Lt. General (Ret.) David J. Kelley is the former Director of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), U.S. Department of Defense; former Manager of the National Communications System, U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Kelley has 20+ years of senior executive experience in the Army serving on active duty as a General Officer, and in industry as the Lockheed Martin Vice President, Land Forces Programs. He has had the rare experience of seeing both sides of the procurement process. As a 3-star General he executed a multi-billion annual budget to support the war fighting commanders, and at Lockheed he directed the capture, contracting and execution of programs to respond to requirements dictated by the military departments. Kelley earned a bachelors degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Masters in Industrial Engineering and a Masters in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan. He is also a graduate of the Executive Management Programs at the Army War College in Carlisle, PA and the Naval War College in Newport, RI.

 
   
   
 
 

Marty is Chief Executive Officer of Fuel BioHoldings. Marty has spent 30 years working as an entrepreneur, engineer, and chemist in pollution prevention, waste treatment, metal finishing, lean manufacturing, co-generation, and alternative fuels. He began his business career in 1976 at the D France Corporation where he was vice president and worked on integrating pollution prevention programs in manufacturing processes.

In 1983, he founded Plating Systems Incorporated, a metal finishing company that was also involved in industrial waste treatment and process system development, including implementation of ISO standards in manufacturing. In 1990, he founded an engineered systems company which designed and built automatic plating machines, Industrial wastewater systems and over 50 co-generation sites. In 2004, Marty founded a Biodiesel fuel business.

In 2005, he built and operated a 12 million gallon Biodiesel production facility in Newark, New Jersey, which he later sold. Marty is involved in environmental issues in New York and New Jersey working on Brownfield remediation as well as contributing to the consumer tax credit for Biodiesel in heating oil in the recent gas tax reduction legislation. Marty holds a BS in Forensic Chemistry from John Jay College in NY City.

 
 

 

 
   
 
 

Captain Peter S. Eltringham, Supply Corps, U. S. Navy (retired) is presently Vice President, Defense Strategic Programs for Telos Corporation.  He has over 29 years active duty experience as a joint military logistician and resources manager with significant experience in national policy and joint planning; military capabilities and mission analyses; defense supply chain management innovation (including fuels); resource allocation; and joint logistics operations.  In his 7 years in the defense industry he has been a logistics and information technology leader, developing new business capabilities and programs across DOD and DHS.  He also serves as Vice Chairman, National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Logistics Management Division; Retired Representative to the Washington Area Naval Supply Corps Association (WANSCA) Board of Directors; and appointed Scott District Representative to the Transportation Committee of Fauquier County, Virginia. 

 
 

 

 
     
   
 

Mr. Zulandi has been in the energy industry for more than 25 years, beginning with the Royal Dutch/Shell Group. In the early 1980s he was a senior manager with General Electric Company, a leading manufacturer of natural gas fired generation equipment where he was instrumental in jump-starting their IPP business, leading GE into the ownership and operation of generating assets. Mr. Zulandi led Ultrasystems/Hadson (latter acquired by LG&E) from a startup into one of the largest IPP's in the US, building $1.4 billion in assets across the coal and gas fired spectrum. He was the Senior Vice President of Columbia Energy Group's electric generation development subsidiary, Columbia Electric Corporation, and took this start-up subsidiary with no generation assets to a Fortune 250 company having 1,620 MWs in developed and operating assets and 2,410 MWs in varying stages of active development.

 

 
 

 

 
     
   
 

Mr. Gonzales has over 35 years of expertise in innovative thinking for global operations. His background includes: 2001-2008 PepsiCo, VP Community Affairs, Global Diversity and Organizational Partnerships and, Global Citizenship (reporting to the CEO of PepsiCo); Board of Directors The PepsiCo Foundation including its Strategic Planning Committee focused on Global Corporate Social Responsibility. From 1991-2001, at Frito-Lay, Inc. VP Global Purchasing and Supplier Development. From 1975-1992 founder and President of PetroMark Enterprises, the first automated retail and fleet fueling gasoline system, partner with energy consulting firm of Purvin & Gertz and Exxon.
